Chelsea choked in the derby against West Ham
This is not nice but true. Not to say The Hammers are not a good team it is just Chelsea did what the normally do not do.
Going into that match they had 8 clean sheets and allowed the least amount of goals (6) in the EPL. To give up 3 in one game while making questionable decisions on the pitch is the honest definition of choking.
Credit to West Ham for taking advantage, but this was a choke job by Chelsea. To say that it was caused West Ham is a different argument.
There were certainly factors that contributed to Chelsea’s choking in the derby against West Ham, but ultimately, they cannot solely be blamed for the defeat. The Hammers played exceptionally well and seized every opportunity presented to them.
Chelsea’s defensive performance was notably below their usual standards. Their backline seemed disorganized and made costly mistakes that led to conceded goals. It was uncharacteristic of a team that had been solid at the back all season long.
Additionally, questionable decision-making on the pitch further highlighted Chelsea’s struggles in this match. They failed to capitalize on scoring chances and lacked creativity in their attacking plays. This allowed West Ham to maintain control and put pressure on Chelsea’s defense.
However, one must acknowledge West Ham’s excellent gameplay throughout the match. They displayed determination, precision, and took full advantage of any weaknesses or opportunities presented by Chelsea. It would be unfair to dismiss their victory as solely a result of Chelsea choking.
West Ham’s players exhibited tremendous skill and cohesion, showcasing their ability to execute well-planned tactical maneuvers. Their midfield dominance was evident as they constantly disrupted Chelsea’s rhythm and thwarted any potential threats. Declan Rice’s commanding presence in the middle of the pitch, coupled with Jesse Lingard’s clinical finishing, proved to be instrumental in West Ham’s triumph.

Under his stewardship, the team has shown immense progress and consistency, proving that their success is not merely a fluke. Of course, no win can be attributed solely to one team’s failure or another team’s brilliance alone; football matches are complex entities influenced by numerous factors on any given day.
