It is clear MLB has lost this generation with the average age of a fan being as high as it is. Baseball is by far my favorite sport, however, I am willing to just move on if MLB does not attempt grow and adapt. The time to change was yesterday.

The traditional way of consuming sports has transformed over the years, with technology and innovation being at the forefront. Yet, baseball seems to be lagging behind in capturing the attention of young fans who are drawn towards quicker-paced and more immersive forms of entertainment.

While other major sports leagues have embraced social media, streaming services, and interactive fan experiences, MLB has struggled to keep up. The lack of accessible content for younger audiences is evident, as many games are only available through expensive cable packages or regional networks.

As an avid fan myself, it’s disheartening to witness this disconnect between a sport I love and its potential decline. But I remain optimistic that change is still possible if MLB can recognize the importance of engaging with younger generations.

Firstly, there needs to be a focus on highlighting players’ personalities both on and off the field. Baseball boasts incredible talent but fails to adequately showcase the individuality that makes these athletes captivating figures.

MLB should collaborate with popular influencers on platforms like TikTok and Instagram to create engaging content that showcases the fun and unique aspects of the sport. From challenges and behind-the-scenes access to player spotlights and game highlights, these collaborations can generate excitement and interest among a whole new generation of fans.

Additionally, MLB should invest in user-friendly mobile apps that provide easy access to live streaming games, real-time stats, interactive features, and personalized content recommendations based on individual preferences.
